Ayurveda

Ancient medicine for modern bodies

Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, is the world’s oldest system of natural medicine. It teaches that each person has a unique constitution (dosha) made of elemental forces: Vata (air/space), Pitta (fire/water), and Kapha (earth/water). When your doshas are in balance, health follows naturally. When they’re not, dis-ease takes root. At Altea Alchemy, we help you understand your constitution and build simple, sustainable routines around food, sleep, movement, and seasonal living that restore balance from the inside out.

Questions About Ayurveda

What is Ayurveda?+

Ayurveda is the world's oldest system of natural medicine, originating in India over 5,000 years ago. It teaches that each person has a unique constitution (dosha) and that health comes from balancing your doshas through diet, routine, and lifestyle.

What happens during an Ayurveda consultation?+

We conduct a detailed consultation covering your health history and lifestyle, assess your dosha through questions and observation, and provide a written summary of your constitution with practical recommendations for diet, herbs, and daily routine.

Is Ayurveda a replacement for my doctor?+

No. Ayurveda is a complementary wellness system. We always encourage clients to maintain their relationship with their healthcare provider. Ayurvedic guidance works alongside conventional care.
